If you have a single internet connection, you might want to connect your laptop and Android phone or iPhone, tablet, or other mobile devices to share Internet access. Sharing mobile’s internet connection with laptop is quite easy, you can do it by using mobile PC suite. But in case, if you want to do the reverse that is use your laptop’s data connection for Internet access on our Android phone or iPhone, tablet, or other mobile device, then you must go for reverse tethering. Reverse tethering will allow you to share the 3G dongle or data card internet connection from your laptop to your mobile phones / gadgets. Also you can form a wifi network with this to share files as well. You can use this trick even in Hotels or restaurants which provide internet access only to a single device say laptop and you want to use it with other gadgets simultaneously as well. In short, We are going to create a personal wireless hotspot from computer’s internet connection to access internet from your Wi-Fi enabled smart phone.
We can achieve this by two methods :

• 1) Using already available resources in your pc to share internet over Wi-Fi
• 2) Using 3rd party software to share Wi-Fi with your mobile phone

Using Available resources

Now let us see how to make use of the already available resources in your pc to share internet over Wi-Fi. This trick requires no installation of 3rd party software, so its kinda safe.
There are two methods in order to share your internet over Wi-Fi using already available resources for windows 7 users.

• Using network and sharing center.
• Smart and easy hack introduced by us.

How to use network and sharing center to share your pc’s internet?

Step 1

Please go to the control panel >Network and internet>Network and sharing center>Manage wireless networks

Step 2

Click Add button in the top right corner of the window.

Step 3

Click Create an ad hoc network button.

Step 4

Please name your new Wi-Fi ad hoc connection as you prefer, select WPA2-Personal as the security type and then type a memorable password. Don’t forget to check the Save this network box so next time you don’t have to make a new ad hoc connection.

Now click on the Wi-Fi icon on your task bar, you will see that your new Wi-Fi ad hoc connection is up and running.

If you still can’t connect to the internet although you are connected with the ad hoc network please go to Network and sharing center >select your internet connection>select properties>go to sharing tab>check allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection and try again.

Step 1

Create a new text file in your desktop it and rename it Connect.bat (Make sure that you deleted the extension,” .txt” and replace it with “.bat”)

Step 2

Open it using note pad and type the following codesnetsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=preferredNetworkName key=preferredPassword keyUsage=persistent netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Change the “preferredNetworkName” to any name that you prefer to call your network and “preferredPassword” to any memorable password with 8 digits. Save it.

Step 3

Create another text file named Disconnect.bat in the same location and type the following codes
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
Save it too.

Step 4

Please go to Network and sharing center >select your internet connection>select properties>go to sharing tab>check allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection check box.

Now your Wi-Fi sharing hack is up and running please double click Connect.bat in order to connect to your phone and Disconnect.bat when you want to disconnect your connection.

Using 3rd party software to share Wi-Fi with your mobile phone

There are many 3rd party software available for creating hotspot and sharing internet. But I would like to discuss the most popular tools which are being used by many. The first one is :

How to Create Windows 8 Bootable USB Drive by AmanAhad

 If you want to install Windows 8 and don’t have a  DVD drive then don’t despair. Windows 8 can be installed from a USB drive. You just have to create a Windows 8 bootable USB drive. There are many ways to do it. You can even do it from command line without any software. But here I’m going to tell the easiest method that requires only a few clicks of mouse.

Note: This method works for both Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Step 1:


Download Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool and install it. This tool is designed for windows 7 but works well for Windows 8. For some reasons they have chosen a weird name for this tool. I always  forget the name of this tool.

Step 2:
Click Browse and select the Windows 8 ISO file.
 

Step 3:


    Click Next.
 

Step 4:
Click USB device and select your USB drive from the list. You will need at least 4GB or larger drive.

Step 5:


Finally click Begin copying and files will begin to copy. Now wait and relax till the files are copied. When it’s finished boot the computer from USB and start installation.

Note:

If you are running a 32-bit OS you can only make 32-bit bootable Windows 8 USB drive. 64-bit users can make both 32-bit and 64-bit bootable windows 8 USB drive.

Install Windows 8 without product key

Unlike windows 7, Windows 8 does not offer a 30 day trial and you have to enter product key at the time of installation. This can be problematic if you do not have key ready. You can bypass this while installation. But you have to enter the key later.
Step 1:
Create a file in notepad with the following content:

15 Ways to Increase Laptop Battery Life by AmanAhad

Battery is the most vital part of a laptop. It is the component that makes laptop truly a portable device. Most of the laptops on an average give about 3 to 4 hours of backup on a single charge. But due to many reasons the actual time can be much less for some users. You can increase laptop battery life by using some simple methods . Following methods will make your laptop run longer on battery:

1. Adjust screen brightness

This is the single most important factor affecting battery life. Whether it is laptop, phone or tablet screens are major source of power drain. Lets face it, you don’t need maximum brightens all the time.  Adjust the screen brightness according to your requirements. When indoor lower your screen brightness to minimum comfortable level. The difference between minimum and maximum brightness can be as large as 1 hour of battery life.

2. Keep DVD drive empty

DVD drives consume lot of power every time CD/DVD spins in the drive. So don’t keep your drive filled all the time. This suggestion will raise on question:

The recommended amount of RAM  for Windows 7 32bit is 2GB and Windows 7 64bit is 4GB. When you have less than recommended RAM you will easily exceed this. Then pagefile will be used more often. As a result hard drive thrashing will occur and more power will be used. The amount of RAM required also depends on usage. If you are a heavy multitasker then adding more will help. Since RAM is pretty cheap these days it is highly recommended that you upgrade it.

Make sure the openings of the laptop are free of any obstruction. Otherwise the laptop will heat up and fans will be consumed. Over the time dust may accumulate in the exhaust vent. Get is cleaned from a any laptop service shop.

If planning to take a longer break it is better to put it on hibernation. No power is consumed in hibernation mode. In both sleep and hibernation your work remains saved.

15 .Turn off aero ( Windows only)
